Santos Dumont

Portugal

Hugo joined Santos Dumont in 2023 as Powerplant Manager.

Prior to joining Santos Dumont, Hugo was working as a Powerplant Engineer at TAP Air Portugal’s Engine Shop, supporting TAP and other airline fleets, lessors, and MROs with customised Engine solutions.

In addition to Engine shop visit management, managing TAP’s field teams and Engine transitions, he also successfully led the CFM LEAP-1A industrialisation program within the Engine Shop and was technically responsible for the Engine shop test cell.

His experience working simultaneously within the MRO and Airline environment allowed him to build the strong technical and commercial background necessary to optimise any Engine lifecycle.

He holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lisbon and has over 500 hours of training in several Powerplant products including general Airworthiness and Regulation.
